Instead of shelling out 450, what are the 3 best shows to buy individually??

4-8 Dark Star>Sugar Mags>Caution is worth the price.
5-11 (although i don't listen to this as much for some reason)
5-4 (jazzy star and Two Souls)

Apparently I prefer the Dark Star shows. 5-26 if you have to have a TOO

Isn't 4/8 basically represented on the "Steppin' Out W/The Grateful Dead" release?

7/22 songs from 4/8 are on Steppin' Out.

Not nearly as much as I thought!
I'm considering getting 5/26...I have 5/10 already and it's very good...what stops me from ordering more of these individual E72 shows is the repeating of so many songs and releases like Hundred Yr, Hall and Steppin Out that I also already have and seem to cover much of the same ground.

But I've seen a lot of praise for 5/26 being a must have...

A few from 4/8 are also on the remaster Europe 72 with bonus tracks.

5-11-1972 would be on anyone's list,

04-08 is up there for sure, a lot of contenders for 3rd pick, maybe 04-24, 05-23 or 5-26

Make sure you get at least one Dark Star and one The Other One.

The two most consistently strong front-to-back shows are 5/26/72 and 4/14/72. They're also complimentary with the first being kind of a rockin' pig show with a Dark Star, and the second being a more subdued show with an Other One. I'd say 4/24/72 is a third place - it's trippy.

4/8/72 has the best Dark Star.
5/11/72 has the best jam sequence.

I've hard 5/10/72 as the best Other One, but I don't know if that's right or not.

If I had to pick,it would be the 1/2 shows from the Lyceum Strand in England. The sound quality is excellent, show lenghts are monsters and all seem to to be fine form, shape and spirits as most of this entire Europe run.

My favorite Other One of this tour is 4/11, but 5/10 is another strong contender.

My humble opinion:
5/4 Paris
5/11 Rotterdam
5/26 London (tough call, but I think this is the best).

Full disclosure: I haven't heard a couple of the shows.

EDIT: This is going by SBDs I have - I never got the official, polished release.

I'll second the 5/3/72 Paris recommendation. Front to back a great ride. It is well represented on the original Europe 72 release if you want to sample some of it: Jack Straw, China > Rider, Tennessee Jed
